A festival for amateur and professional filmmakers, we welcome short films of any genre, of no more than 20 minutes in length.


RETURNING FILMMAKERS (those who submitted any film with an entry fee in the past) receive an additional $5 discount, email to get your discount code before submitting your entry on FilmFreeway.

Rules & Terms

Short films in any genre, maximum 20 minutes in length. Sexual content and derogatory language towards any group or specific individual is prohibited. The applicant must have prime artistic responsibility for the video submitted. Roles considered to have prime artistic responsibility are director, producer, writer, or editor.

Awards & Prizes

The entry fee includes admission to the festival screening events AND to all of the roundtables.

Will Vinton Award for Best Animation

The Will Vinton Award for Best Animated Film will be awarded to the top scoring animated film. Will Vinton, a native of McMinnville, OR, is an Oscar-winning filmmaker and pioneer of Claymation. He is supporting this award and festival to encourage animation filmmakers!

Recology Sustainability Award

Recology’s vision is a world without waste. This employee-owned company carries out its vision through community based services, educational programs and innovative engineering solutions that promote the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle. The 2019 Recology Sustainability Award will go to a filmmaker who demonstrates and promotes environmental sustainability as a major theme in their short film. Themes can include but are not limited to:

A panel of judges, including Recology’s General Manager Fred Stemmler, will review the qualifying films and select the film that best fits this award.
